Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, says that after more than three years of conflict, two central realities of the war are clear.

The first reality is that the struggle cannot be won by military means alone. Rumsfeld states that all U.S. departments must continue to work together. The second reality is that the United States cannot win the global struggle alone. According to Rumsfeld, "it takes a great many nations" to stop global proliferation and to share intelligence to prevent future attacks. (1:28)
