Michael Tanner explains how there is no guaranteed right to Social Security benefits
Tanner, Director of the Cato Institute’s Project on Social Security Choice, says that people often think that because they pay Social Security taxes, they are entitled to benefits. However,Tanner states that courts have held that Congress is free to change, reduce or even take away Social Security benefits as they see fit. (2:00)
