Dr. Gerberding outlines the CDC’s actions in response to the Avian flu. She emphasizes the importance of realizing that when the Avian virus caused the 1918 flu pandemic, it did not happen overnight. She also points out that it is very important that the CDC has a stockpile of anti-viral drug to distribute in the region of emergence. (1:13)
