Deputy Secretary of State nominee Robert Zoellick says denial of opportunity and absence of hope are causes of terrorism.
Zoellick says in a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on his nomination that poverty is not a cause of terrorism but societies denied opportunities are "fertile grounds." Zoellick says it is important that Palestine does not lose their status in the free trade agreement with Israel even if they become their own free state. (:30)
