Hon. Ursula Mueller, First Minister Counselor, Embassy of Germany speaking on the EU`s lack of recognition of state sponsored terrorism.
Hon. Mueller discusses the EU`s policy towards terrorists. She re-iterates that the EU does not recognize the concept of state-sponsored terrorism since acts of states are covered by other rules of international law. She emphasizes respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms in the fight against terrorism. She proposes that the recent new countries in the EU have been similarly committed to fighting terrorism but it remains to be seen what the exact impact of these countries will be on a common foreign security policy.(1:27)
